Call Of Duty Esports Tournament
The Los Angeles Guerrillas and Atlanta FaZe both completed 3-0 sweeps on Saturday, setting up a meeting in the winners-bracket final at the Call of Duty League’s Stage 4 Major in Burbank, Calif.
Los Angeles blanked the rival Los Angeles Thieves, while Atlanta shut out the Seattle Surge. The Guerrillas and FaZe will face off on Sunday, with the winner going to the grand final and the loser dropping into the elimination bracket.
The Guerrillas prevailed 250-233 on Rio Hardpoint, 6-4 on Highrise Seach & Destroy and 3-2 on Invasion Control to remain in the winners bracket.
Atlanta took Sub Base Hardpoint 250-188, then earned a 6-5 victory on Karachi Search & Destroy. It snuffed any chance of a Surge comeback by winning 3-1 on Highrise Control.
Seattle couldn’t stay alive in the elimination bracket, falling 3-2 to the Toronto Ultra. The Thieves also struggled with their backs against the wall, getting ousted by the New York Subliners, who won 3-1.
Toronto raced out to a quick 2-0 lead, but the Surge rallied to tie things at 2-all. However, the Ultra recovered, using a 6-1 drubbing on Invasion Search & Destroy to advance to the fourth round of the elimination bracket.
New York split the first two maps with the Thieves before winning 3-2 on Invasion Control and 250-105 on Vista Hardpoint.
Before knocking off Seattle, Toronto got past the Miami Heretics, 3-1, on Saturday.
