New Pierce Brosnan spy movie announced
Brosnan’s In The Wind will lanch at the upcoming Cannes market in May 2024. It is being financed by Nadine de Barros’ Fortitude International.
As per Deadline, Brosnan will play a retired spy who comes out of hiding due to a mysterious new neighbor, whose actions lead to events that flesh out their deep hidden secrets.
In The Wind acts as the directorial debut for Simon Barry, who is known for creating and being the showrunner for Syfy’s Ghost Wars and Netflix’s Warrior Nun.
Following Warrior Nun’s cancelation after two seasons, he took on the upcoming film. Besides directing, he also gets the writing credits for penning down the screenplay based on his father Derek Barry’s original story.
Speaking with Deadline, Simon expressed his happiness about working with Brosnan, saying:
“As a longtime Pierce Brosnan fan, I’m extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside someone I admire for their craft, character and humanity.”
Uri Singer also praised the casting of Brosnan, who recently played Dr. Fate in Black Adam. According to him, the former 007 is perfect for the upcoming thriller. He said:
“Pierce is the perfect fit for this role, and we are so excited to see what he and Simon will do together.”
The other cast members joining Brosnan are expected to be revealed at the Cannes market, where it is expected to get an official worldwide release date.
