Miss Granny is a story of Oh Mal-soon who is a lonely elderly woman who wishes to regain her youth again so she can feel valued again. And soon enough, Oh Mal-Soon gets her wish granted when she visits a nearby photo booth that promises to transform the patrons into “whatever they want to be.”
Oh Mal-soon regains her youth as her 20-year-old self and becomes very happy. As she relives her youth, Oh mal-soon decides to rename herself as well in order to feel fully reincarnated. So, she names herself Oh Doo-ri (after the famous actress Audrey Hepburn) and decides to make the most out of her unexpected youth.
Elated with her newfound joy, Oh Doo-ri lives her life fearlessly and tries everything that she is afraid of using the gained knowledge and experience of her lifetime. Oh Doo-ri seizes the opportunity and explores the modern world with the wisdom of her years, but the vibrancy and impulsiveness of youth.
Through the movie’s strong message of being valued again and finding herself, the film claimed many international remakes too.
The cast of Miss Granny is solely carried by Korean actress Shim Eun-kyung in the twin roles of the spiritedness of a young woman, Oh Doo-ri and the seasoned perspective of a 74-year-old, Oh Mal-soon. The supporting cast consists of Na Moon Hee as Oh Mal-soon, Lee Joon-wook as Han Seung-Woo and Jung Jin-young as Ban Ji-ha.
